After a long silence, hereby some results of the beam trawl survey 2017. The survey was affected by technical issues (see previous blogs), and after the last blog boatswain René van Dam passed away in the weekend between two trips. The following two weeks were intense in multiple ways, as we worked hard to get as much stations sampled as we could, while suffering a severe loss. Writing weblogs was no priority anymore. We however managed to get at least the stations sampled that are used for the WMR index calculation for plaice and sole. The indices are used as tuning series in the stock assessment.
Tong/SoleFor sole, only the data southeastern North Sea and German bight are taken into account, due to the geographical distribution area of the species.
