Het hoe en waarom/’How’ and ‘why’?
Zoals in de eerste weblog van de BTS 2014 al geschreven,
is deze survey oorspronkelijk bedoeld om informatie te verzamelen over schol en
tong. Aangezien het gebied dat door de Tridens bemonsterd wordt hoofdzakelijk
buiten het verspreidingsgebied van tong ligt, is onze voornaamste doelsoort
schol. We verzamelen lengte-, gewicht- en leeftijdsinformatie van schol en een
aantal andere soorten. Uiteindelijk resulteert dit in een index die samen met
andere informatie wordt gebruikt in bestandsschattings-modellen.

As written in the first BTS 2014
weblog, this survey is originally designed to collect data on plaice and sole. The
area covered by Tridens is mainly outside the distribution area of sole. So,
our so-called target species is plaice. The reason for data collection is to
create a fisheries-independent index for plaice. This index is used as one of
the sources of information in stock assessment models.
