Het tweede deel van de survey heeft in totaal 72 locaties op de planning staan waar we gaan vissen, die grofweg binnen het zwart omkaderde gebied liggen. Het is vandaag niet overal even mooi weer (blauw=weinig wind --> rood=storm). De kwaliteit van de surveyresultaten hebben baat bij vissen in niet al te ruige omstandigheden: het is makkelijker om het vistuig met constante snelheid te trekken en aan de bodem te houden omdat het schip minder beweegt en het is voor de onderzoekers makkelijker om de vangst te verwerken op een rustig schip dan wanneer alles de hele tijd heen en weer schuift. Gelukkig gaven de weersvoorspellingen op tijd aan dat het flink zou gaan waaien, dus we kunnen vandaag rustig doorwerken op de stations in de witte cirkel. 

In the second part of the survey we have to cover 72 stations, more or less within the black shape. Today,  the weather was not too good in some parts of the North Sea, see below (blue=calm, red=storm). From a survey quality perspective it is beneficial to collect data in relative calm circumstances: not only is it easier to keep the fishing gear at constant speed and on the ground as the ship is not moving up and down, but for the scientists it is also easier to process the catch in the best manner as things don’t move all over the place on their own behalf. The weather forecast was clear for today, and we still had almost all stations to cover, so we chose to fish the stations in the white circle in calm weather.
